Artiste visuelle et réalisatrice, Amélie Cabocel développe une recherche autour de questions liées aux corps et au corps social. Sa démarche se situe à l’intersection entre images fixes, images en mouvement et son. Elle s’appuie sur une approche documentaire proposant d’autres imaginaires et représentations, d’autres possibles, plaçant les récits queer et minoritaires en son centre. Ouvrir des espaces d’expression et de création collective est au cœur de sa pratique.

Amélie participe à des résidences de création (Résidence 5 Étoiles, Stimultania ; Le Lavoir Numérique, Gentilly) et développe ses projets avec le soutien de bourses (Soutien à la photographie documentaire, Le CNAP ; IF Incontournable, Institut Français). Son travail fait l'objet de publications, et est diffusé au sein de festivals et d'expositions en France et à l'international (Dok Leipzig ; Maison de la Photographie Robert Doisneau, Gentilly ; Stimultania, Strasbourg).

Visual artist and filmmaker, her specialisation in photography is linked to anthropology studies and led her to an artistic practice that combines these fields.

Amélie Cabocel is a visual artist and filmmaker whose research focuses on issues related to the body and the social body. Her approach lies at the intersection of still images, moving images and sound. Her work is based on a documentary approach proposing other imaginaries and representations, other possibilities, placing queer and minority narratives at its center. Opening up spaces for collective expression and creation is at the heart of her practice.
