A 17 ans, Semmy découvre la photo en integrant un journal Jeune de Seine et Marne. Son bac S en poche, il s'inscrit en fac de sciences, mais il choisira assez vite de se réorienter vers un BTS Photo à l'ETPA, suivie d'une Maitrise Sciences et Techniques Photographie et Multimedia à Paris VIII. Semmy aura sa première expérience dans le milieu professionnel à cette période en tant qu'assistant de plateau.

Après un cours passage dans la maison d'édition Transphotographic Press, ce sera le début d'une longue expérience dans le milieu de la mode et de la publicité en tant qu'assistant lumière et assistant numérique, période pendant laquelle il travaillera avec de grands noms tels que Ellen Von Unwerth ou Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

Parallèlement, Semmy construit d'autres réseaux et d'autres pratiques.

Tout en développant une partie vidéo corporate, Semmy travaille le portrait. En interview, en studio, en extérieur, homme et femmes politiques, sportives et sportifs, acteurs et scientifiques passeront devant son objectif.

En reportage, il s'agit de s'intéresser aux rites initiatiques traditionnels gabonais utilisant l'Iboga (proche de l'Ayawashca sud américaine), aux Nomades Berbères marocains forcés de se sédentariser à cause de la sécheresse, à la procession Sikh du nouvel an à Bobigny, à la Korika (course de relai au travers des pays basque nord et sud pour la défense de la langue), à la confrérie soufie Alawya par un travail de portraits, ou encore de photographier l'ennuyeuse réalité d'une grève chez PSA.

At 17, Semmy discovered photography when he joined a youth newspaper in Seine et Marne. Holder of a Bac S, he enrolled in science college, but he quickly chose to reorient himself towards a BTS Photo at ETPA, followed by a Master's degree in Sciences and Techniques Photography and Multimedia at Paris VIII. Semmy will have his first experience in the professional world at this time as a set assistant. After a short stint in the publishing house Transphotographic Press, it will be the beginning of a long experience in the world of fashion and advertising as a light assistant and digital assistant, during which time he will work with large names such as Ellen Von Unwerth or Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

At the same time, Semmy builds other networks and other practices. While developing a corporate video part, Semmy works on the portrait. In interviews, studios, outdoors, politicians, sportsmen and women, actors and scientists will pass in front of his lens.

While on eportages, Semmy focuses on traditional Gabonese initiation rites using Iboga (close to South American Ayawashca), Moroccan Berber nomads forced to settle down because of drought, New Year's Sikh procession in Bobigny, at the Korika (relay race through the northern and southern Basque countries for the defense of the language), at the Alawya Sufi brotherhood through portrait work, or even to photograph the boring reality of a strike at PSA.
