Erbil, un développement spectaculaire au coeur d'un pays encore meurtri par les guerres
Erbil, parfois surnommé "Dubai du Nord", capitale de Kurdistan Irakien, lui-même surnommé "la Suisse du Moyen-Orient". Et pour cause, ce territoire montagneux autonome du nord de l'Irak, à la croisée entre la Turquie, l'Irak et la Syrie, a su se préserver de l'instabilité et des conflits de la région. Cette stabilité en a fait la base arrière des ONG et armées étrangères, un endroit stratégique pour l'économie et les investisseurs ainsi qu'une terre d'acceuil pour les réfugiés. Ainsi, Erbil affiche aujourd'hui un développement spectaculaire contrastant avec le reste de l'Irak encore meutri par les guerres et notament le récent conflit avec l'Etat Islamique.

Erbil, spectacular development in the heart of a country still scarred by war
Erbil, sometimes referred to as the "Dubai of the North", capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, itself nicknamed the "Switzerland of the Middle East". And for good reason: this autonomous mountainous territory in northern Iraq, at the crossroads between Turkey, Iraq and Syria, has managed to preserve itself from the instability and conflicts of the region. This stability has made it a rear base for NGOs and foreign armies, a strategic location for the economy and investors, and a haven for refugees. As a result, Erbil is currently undergoing spectacular development, in stark contrast to the rest of Iraq, which is still ravaged by war and, in particular, the recent conflict with the Islamic State.
