History of the Pyrenean beret
The beret, the Pyrenean headgear par excellence, seems to have found in the mountains a desire to become more democratic. Today it constitutes a real market in constant evolution. Worn from the chanels parades to the different corps of the French army, passing by the traditional shepherds, the beret has found a different public to travel through the eras with style and authenticity. However, its production and manufacture have remained local and the Laulhère company based in Oloron Sainte-Marie continues to perpetuate this unique know-how in the region.
