Naples, vue de la mer : un golfe, deux récits (2)
Posé sur le pont d'un paquebot de croisière amarré dans le port de Naples, le regard se fixe sur cette ville-théâtre nichée au creux de son golfe, dominée par la silhouette familière du Vésuve. Ce point de vue singulier — celui du voyageur de passage, suspendu entre deux escales — offre une perspective rare sur la cité parthénopéenne : ni tout à fait dedans, ni tout à fait dehors, entre arrivée et départ, entre terre et mer.

Perched on the deck of a cruise ship docked in the port of Naples, one's gaze is fixed on this theatrical city nestled in the heart of its gulf, dominated by the familiar silhouette of Vesuvius. This singular viewpoint—that of the transient traveler, suspended between two ports of call—offers a rare perspective on the Parthenopean city: neither entirely inside nor entirely outside, between arrival and departure, between land and sea.
In *The Maritime Pulses of the Great Gulf*, it is the rhythm of the port that prevails: the ceaseless ballet of boats, the maneuvers of tugboats, the continuous ebb and flow of one of the economic and human lungs of the Mediterranean. Naples appears as a living organism, animated by the ebb and flow of its ships.
*The Sea Embraces You, Chronicle of a Parthenopean Stopover* adopts a more intimate, almost contemplative tempo. The suspended time of a port call becomes the pretext for a visual reverie: the light settling on the water, the outlines of the city emerging and then fading as the cruise ship casts off.
Together, these two series form a diptych of Naples seen from the sea: on one side, the raw energy of the great Mediterranean port, on the other, the melancholic sweetness of a farewell.
