Crue dans les Landes : Tartas marche sur l’eau
Depuis plus d’une semaine, Tartas, commune des Landes, dans le sud-ouest de la région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, forte d’un peu plus de 3 000 habitants, vit au rythme des conséquences de la tempête Nils, suivie de la tempête Pedro, et de la crue de la Midouze. Cet affluent droit de l’Adour prend naissance à Mont-de-Marsan, à la confluence du Midou (ou Midour) et de la Douze, avant de s’écouler vers le nord-ouest et de rejoindre l’Adour au Hourquet, non loin de Tartas. Les petites rues riveraines de la Midouze sont désormais équipées de chemins hors d’eau. À Tartas, on marche littéralement sur l’eau.
Flooding in the Landes region: Tartas walks on water
For over a week now, Tartas, a town in the Landes department in the south-west of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region with a population of just over 3,000, has been dealing with the aftermath of Storm Nils, followed by Storm Pedro and the flooding of the Midouze River. This right tributary of the Adour river originates in Mont-de-Marsan, at the confluence of the Midou (or Midour) and the Douze, before flowing northwest and joining the Adour at Hourquet, not far from Tartas. The small streets along the Midouze are now equipped with flood-proof paths. In Tartas, you can literally walk on water.
