Moldavie, déjà dans l’Europe
La Moldavie a posé sa candidature à l'adhésion à l’Union Européenne en mars 2022 et a obtenu le statut de candidat en juin 2022. En novembre 2024, face à un candidat pro-russe, la présidente pro-européenne Maia Sandu de cet ancien pays soviétique a été réélue pour un second mandat renforçant le referendum déroulé en octobre 2024 inscrivant cette adhésion dans la constitution de la République de la Moldavie. Cet engouement pour entrer dans l’Europe s’affiche dès 2023 dans les rues de la capitale Chisinau où de nombreux bâtiments officiels sortent le drapeau aux douze étoiles dorées sur fond bleu à côté du drapeau national.
Moldova, already in Europe
Moldova applied for membership of the European Union in March 2022 and was granted candidate status in June 2022. In November 2024, against a pro-Russian candidate, the pro-European President Maia Sandu of this former Soviet country was re-elected for a second term, reinforcing the referendum held in October 2024 to enshrine membership in the constitution of the Republic of Moldova. This enthusiasm for joining Europe has been evident since 2023 in the streets of the capital Chisinau, where many official buildings display the flag with twelve gold stars on a blue background alongside the national flag.
