"CRACKLAND" ACT 2, PARIS, THE INHABITANTS KEEP FIGHTING FRO THEIR RIGHTS
For this 2nd act, the demonstrators came more numerous than last week. Danièle Obono, Member of Parliament for Paris from the 17th constituency, La France Insoumise, left party, came to meet the inhabitants to propose the opening of a crack consumption room, which the residents overwhelmingly refuse, asking her to open this room far from their neighborhood.
For the past thirty years or so, the Stalingrad district in Paris 19th has been owned by crack dealers and drug addicts.
For the past 5 years, they have taken up residence in most of the Eole park, which was created as a result of citizen consultation, for the inhabitants of the district.
Today, day and night, it is almost impossible to walk there, crack users hide in broad daylight on the park benches. There are around a hundred of them squatting permanently, the inhabitants no longer dare to come for a walk.
Today, they cross the park, still munching on the territory of drug dealers and drug addicts, pushed behind the fences by the municipal police.
