SHEBAB
Since the 30th of March, day of the Earth but also day of the beginning of the movement "The Great March of return", several young men called the "Shebab" in Arabic have been staying at the Malaka camp, in Shejaiya (East of the Gaza strip). There, they have been protesting for their rights of Return in their original lands of Palestine. This movement should have ended on the 15th of May, day of the commemoration of the Nakba but rumours says that it will continue until the month of October.
When some of the Shebab are refugees, others are from Gaza but support their refugees friends. Their aim is to clearly pass the fence that separates Gaza and Israel that would represent their dreams to get back to their lands. In order to do so, they have organized themselves in different groups: one is responsible to bring the tires and burn it during the clashes, others have to make kites and hang burning clothes full of petrol to Israel, others are responsible of the slingshots. In this serie we follow one group of the Shebab called the "Koshouk" meaning "tires". They are responsible to buy, bring and put fire on the tires in order to reduce the visibility of the Iraeli snipers during the protest and the attempts to reach the border. Although they are the "Koshouk", they sometimes join the other Shebabs to throw rocks on the Israeli soldiers. They also try to reach the fence to remove the barbed wires from it. Knowing that Israeli soldiers don't hesitate to shoot at any person getting close to the fence, why do they risk their life? Especially that their isn't any achievement with their action. To this question, they answer that their dream is to get back to their stolen land and get out of Gaza "
We don't have anything to loose here, we can't find work, we are dying slowly in Gaza, we just ask for our rights, nothing more and we are ready to die for it. Until the beginning of the movement, you haven't seen any division between the people, we are unified to reach the same aim and we want Israël and the international community to listen to us".
