A childhood in the ruins: meeting four Syrian refugees
This series is an encounter with four minor Syrian refugees who survive in ruined buildings near the Lebanese-Syrian border. Aged 11 to 15 years, these teenagers, called Walid, Moussa, Suleiman and Bashar, fled the city of Raqqa upon the arrival of the Islamic State and exiled to Lebanon where they have no protection status. Like nearly a million and a half Syrian refugees in Lebanon, they have been waiting for the end of the Syrian conflict for several years with the hope of returning home once the war is over. To subsist, they work in the fields of the Bekaa Valley or they recover blocks in ruins to sell them by the roadside. They do not have access to education. This subject was realised in February 2016.
