Algues vertes, la bataille sans fin
Eté 2025, comme chaque saison depuis maintenant de trop nombreuses années, la plage du Curnic à Guissény n'appartient plus aux touristes mais aux engins de chantier. Le va et vient est incessant. Chaque marée dépose inlassablement sa couche d'algues vertes sur le sable de la baie. La situation ne pourra qu'empirer à la suite de la promulgation de la loi Duplomb sous la pression des syndicats agricoles majoritaires tels que la FNSEA. La facilitation d'installation et d'agrandissement des élevages intensifs ne fera qu'accentuer le déséquilibre entre activités humaines et nature déjà en place. Sur l'estran défiguré, certain veulent nous faire croire que les marées vertes sont une chance, une barge aspirant les algues arbore fièrement un logo "Merci les algues", récupérant la précieuse ressource afin de servir de fertilisant pour l'agriculture. On nourrit la bête à grand renfort d'argent public alors que les communes littorales payent le prix fort de l'inaction.
Green algae, the endless battle
Summer 2025, as has been the case every season for too many years now, Curnic Beach in Guissény no longer belongs to tourists but to construction equipment. The comings and goings are incessant. Each tide tirelessly deposits its layer of green algae on the sand of the bay. The situation can only get worse following the enactment of the Duplomb law under pressure from the majority agricultural unions such as the FNSEA. Facilitating the establishment and expansion of intensive livestock farming will only accentuate the imbalance between human activities and nature that already exists. On the disfigured foreshore, some would have us believe that green tides are an opportunity, with a barge sucking up the algae proudly displaying a “Thank you algae” logo, recovering the precious resource to use as fertilizer for agriculture. The beast is being fed with large amounts of public money, while coastal communities pay the high price of inaction.
