Ciaran hits Finistere
On November 1st, the commune of Kerlouan is preparing to face the wind and waves of storm Ciaran.
On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, gusts of up to 200 km/hour swept along the Brittany coast. The wind and the projectiles it tears up in its path whistle through the night, and no one sleeps.
Waking up was difficult for the inhabitants, and the damage was enormous, even inland, as in Kernoues, where a piece of the town's bell tower fell onto the roof of the church.
Nearly 200,000 people are without power in the département, while the weather continues to be stormy. The Internet was cut off, vulnerable people isolated, roofs torn off and roads blocked.
In the aftermath of the storm, the small commune on the Breton coast is licking its wounds, but it will take several days to get back to normal.
