In France, in the summer of 2022, a devastating fire disrupted the landscape of vacationers who came to enjoy the exceptional natural setting of the Gironde and Landes. The smoke, in the distance, did not seem so frightening. The contrast between the reality of climate change and the almost casual attitude of the tourists reminds me of a symbol: that of a humanity in cosmic denial.
