Shiraz, ville de parfums et de soleil. Et, dans les années 1970, lieu d’un Festival des arts ouvert à l’avant-garde. Le chorégraphe Armin Hokmi s’inspire de ce rendez-vous entre les continents pour inventer une danse, à la fois contemporaine, personnelle et intimiste. Armin Hokmi, Iranien né à Booshehr, aujourd’hui établi à Berlin et Oslo, a fait la surprise du Festival Montpellier Danse 2024 avec ce ballet hypnotique, fruit d’échanges entre les sept interprètes internationaux, issus de traditions différentes. Hommage à l’esprit vibrant de ce festival mythique, la pièce est un pont entre les cultures, s’affranchissant de l’histoire, de l’espace et du temps pour faire vivre une intense expérience poétique.

Shiraz, a city of perfumes and sunshine. And, in the 1970s, the site of an arts festival open to the avant-garde. Choreographer Armin Hokmi draws inspiration from this meeting of continents to create a dance that is at once contemporary, personal, and intimate. Armin Hokmi, an Iranian born in Booshehr, now based in Berlin and Oslo, surprised the Montpellier Danse 2024 Festival with this hypnotic ballet, the result of exchanges between seven international performers from diverse traditions. A tribute to the vibrant spirit of this legendary festival, the piece is a bridge between cultures, transcending history, space, and time to offer an intensely poetic experience.
