Charles Juliet is a contemporary French author born in the Ain region in 1934. He published Lambeaux (Fragments) in 1995, recounting his own story and those of his two mothers, biological and adoptive: the lonely and the valiant, the stifled and the courageous. The narrative blends biographical investigation, autobiography, and fiction, reaching beyond what memory alone can capture.
Lambeaux is also the story of Charles Juliet's journey toward self-discovery, born a peasant and becoming a writer, and of his liberation through writing. A reconciling, redemptive writing. A dialogue that brings the world to life.
From book to stage, imagination becomes a tool for approaching reality. It is an ode to the beauty and strength that life carries; it is a tale of hope.
