MALDOROR
Dix ans après son adaptation de 2666 au Festival d’Avignon, Julien Gosselin retrouve Roberto Bolaño et fait dialoguer l’écrivain chilien avec un grand poète du XIXe siècle : Lautréamont. Tous deux n’ont eu de cesse de sonder la violence humaine, ses origines et ses zones d’ombre.
Dans un spectacle à la croisée du théâtre, du cinéma et de la performance, le metteur en scène poursuit son travail sur la littérature. S’ancrant dans l’Amérique latine des années 1970, Maldoror interroge l’œuvre d’auteurs et d’artistes qui ont su côtoyer au plus proche le mal absolu.

Ten years after adapting 2666 for the Avignon Festival, Julien Gosselin returns to Roberto Bolaño, bringing the Chilean writer into dialogue with a great 19th-century poet: Lautréamont. Both men relentlessly probed human violence, its origins, and its darkest recesses.
In a production that sits at the intersection of theater, cinema, and performance art, the director continues his exploration of literature. Rooted in the Latin America of the 1970s, Maldoror examines the work of authors and artists who confronted absolute evil at close quarters.
