Activists from the environmental group Extinction Rebellion Finland or Elokapina demonstrate in Helsinki, Finland on June 5, 2025. The group demands that the Finnish government comply with its own climate law and international agreements such as to reach the 2035 carbon neutrality target for Finland as well as better measures to tackle climate change. They also claim that the government cuts should be directed at environmentally and climatically harmful subsidies, instead of basic assistant, social and healthcare services, education, and culture. This is the first of many demonstrations that Elokapina has planned for this month in what they claim to be the largest and most impactful climate disobedience rallies in the Nordic countries.
