Rome, la démesure du Vittoriano
Érigé au cœur de Rome en hommage au premier roi de l'Italie unifiée, le monument national à Victor-Emmanuel II impressionne par son gigantisme et son marbre blanc étincelant. Conçu par Giuseppe Sacconi en marbre blanc de Botticino, l'édifice domine la piazza Venezia avec ses colonnades néoclassiques, ses statues de victoires ailées et sa statue équestre colossale de Victor-Emmanuel II.
