Éléonore Bak est artiste et chercheuse associée au CNRS. Elle extrait, sculpte et révèle l’interaction constante — mais invisible — du son avec le réel. Elle l’étire jusqu’à l’inaudible pour mieux questionner nos rapports dimensionnels au monde. Avec des fulgurances qui jaillissent parfois dans un regard étincelle. Quand le public entend l’invisible.
Pour ce portrait, j’ai cherché un mouvement photographique qui entre en résonance avec cette fréquence intérieure — dans l’espace même où elle pense et crée. En retour, elle m’a confié un enregistrement rare : l’activité cérébrale qui avait précédé ce moment.

Éléonore Bak is an artist and CNRS-affiliated researcher. She extracts, sculpts and reveals the constant — yet invisible — interaction of sound with reality. She stretches it into the inaudible to question our dimensional relationship to the world. Sometimes, a flash in her gaze becomes a spark.
A moment when the audience hears the invisible. For this portrait, I sought a photographic movement that could resonate with this inner frequency — in the very space where she thinks and creates. In return, she offered a rare recording: the trace of her brain activity, captured after the moment.
