Odissea l'an 5
The project ""Odissea"" starts from the family microcosm, from an intimate and personal experience to reach a universal concept:
To document in my own way the early childhood that escapes our memories, through a family photo album between real and imaginary.
For most people, our first memories go back to 4 years old.
Furtive or sometimes very precise images, sensations, smells. But what happened before 4 years old?
At the beginning of course, there is a very personal and intimate desire to leave my son a testimony, traces of this period of which he will probably only keep a few memories.
But when I started to photograph at the very beginning of this project, and when I looked at the photographs afterwards, it appeared to me that the photographic image alone was insufficient. That there were many more things happening, as if there were two or three parallel worlds in the same scene. There is my eye of observer, my projections of parent but also and especially the glance of the child on the world which surrounds him.
Through this work, I wanted to understand how my child grows up, to relive with him these new worlds that open up little by little and to transmit it, because once again, we forget.
Early childhood is a rich, extraordinary period, a time of exploration, experimentation, mastery and change.
