MACON LE 1ER MAI CONTRE L'EXTREME DROITE
Le 1er mai, je prends place dans un minibus avec des membres de la CGT Autun qui, cette année, ne manifestent pas dans leur ville mais rejoignent Mâcon pour une mobilisation départementale appelée par l'UD CGT 71, en réaction à la venue du RN pour son meeting national avec Marine Le Pen et Jordan Bardella. Du départ d'Autun au retour après la manifestation, ce reportage documente une journée de route, de syndicalisme et de contestation, entre opposition à l'extrême droite et colère face aux évolutions récentes autour du travail le 1er mai, notamment pour les boulangeries et les fleuristes.
MAY DAY AGAINST THE FAR RIGHT
On May 1st, I join members of CGT Autun in a minivan as they head to Mâcon instead of marching in their own town this year. They are taking part in a departmental demonstration called by UD CGT 71, in response to the RN’s national rally featuring Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella. From the departure in Autun to the return journey after the protest, this piece documents a day shaped by travel, trade union activism, and political protest. It highlights both opposition to the far right and broader frustration over recent developments concerning work on May Day, particularly in sectors such as bakeries and florists.
