Lula de retour à Bangu
Le 22 août 2026, le président brésilien Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva a tenu un rassemblement de campagne au stade Moça Bonita, dans le quartier de Bangu, dans l’ouest de Rio de Janeiro.
Dès le matin, des centaines de sympathisant·es se sont rassemblé·es dans les tribunes et autour du terrain du Bangu Atlético Clube pour soutenir Lula dans sa campagne pour l’élection présidentielle de 2026. Drapeaux, vêtements rouges et symboles du Parti des travailleurs (PT) ont accompagné l’arrivée du président et son discours devant la foule.
Le choix de Bangu fait également écho à l’histoire politique de Lula. Lors de sa première campagne présidentielle, en 1989, il avait déjà tenu un meeting dans le quartier. Trente-sept ans plus tard, il revient à Bangu pour son premier rassemblement de campagne à Rio de Janeiro pour l’élection présidentielle de 2026.
Lula returns to Bangu
On 22 August 2026, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held a campaign rally at Moça Bonita Stadium in Bangu, western Rio de Janeiro.
From the morning, hundreds of supporters gathered in the stands and around the Bangu Atlético Clube pitch to support Lula’s campaign in the 2026 presidential election. Flags, red clothing and symbols of the Workers’ Party (PT) filled the stadium as the president arrived and addressed the crowd.
The choice of Bangu also echoes Lula’s political history. During his first presidential campaign in 1989, he held a rally in the neighbourhood. Thirty-seven years later, Lula returned to Bangu for his first campaign rally in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
