MUNICIPALES 2026: DUEL DANS LA CITÉ MARIALE
Série sur la compétition électorale des municipales 2026 à Lourdes, entre Thierry Lavit (maire sortant, « Lourdes, bien plus qu’une ville ») et Gérald Capel (« Lourdes, un nouveau souffle »). Alors que le maire sortant défendait un bilan d’investissements structurants et une dette maîtrisée, son opposant dénonçait la gestion opaque de l'équipe en place, une capacité d'auto-financement nette en berne et des reports d’emprunts alarmants. Thierry Lavit l'emporte avec un score très confortable de 67%. Alors que la campagne s'était caractérisée par une grande tension entre les supporters des deux listes en lice, la tension a semblé retomber. Le jour du vote, les deux candidats se sont salués avec emphase et en soirée, à l'annonce de résultats sans appel, le maire sortant réélu remerciait son challenger.

Series on the electoral contest in the 2026 municipal elections in Lourdes, between Thierry Lavit (incumbent mayor, "Lourdes, much more than a city") and Gerald Capel ("Lourdes, a new breath"). While the incumbent mayor defended a record of major long term investments and a controlled level of debt, his opponent denounced opaque management by the current team, a declining net self financing capacity, and alarming loan rollovers. Thierry Lavit wins with a very comfortable 67% of the vote. After a campaign marked by high tension between supporters of the two competing lists, tensions appeared to ease. On election day, the two candidates greeted each other with emphasis, and in the evening, when the clear cut results were announced, the reelected incumbent mayor thanked his challenger.
