METS TES BASKETS ET SOUTIENS MATHÉO FACE A LA LEUCODYSTROPHIE
Privé à la dernière minute d’une thérapie génique innovante, Mathéo, 11 ans, atteint d’une forme grave de leucodystrophie, l'adrénoleucodystrophie cérébrale, une maladie génétique grave touchant les jeunes garçons, a subi deux greffes de moelle osseuse. À Maubourguet (Hautes-Pyrénées), des centaines d’enfants vêtus de tee-shirts siglés ELA SE se sont mobilisés pour soutenir Mathéo lors de la matinée Mets tes baskets, bats la maladie. Organisée par l’association Européenne contre les Leucodystrophies (ELA), cet l’évènement sensibilise chaque année les écoles à la solidarité et au respect du handicap.
PUT ON YOUR SNEAKERS AND SUPPORT MATHÉO IN THE FIGHT AGAINST LEUKODYSTROPHY
Deprived at the last minute of an innovative gene therapy, Mathéo, 11 years old, suffering from a severe form of leukodystrophy, cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy, a serious genetic disease affecting young boys, has undergone two bone marrow transplants. In Maubourguet (Hautes-Pyrénées), hundreds of children wearing ELA-logo T-shirts mobilized to support Mathéo during the morning event Put On Your Sneakers, Beat the Disease. Organized by the European Leukodystrophy Association (ELA), this event raises awareness in schools every year about solidarity and respect for disabilities.
