Il continue d’inspirer des imaginaires bien au-delà de l’Atlantique. Au cœur du Gers est niché Carchet City, un village western reconstitué. Créé en 2016 par des bénévoles passionnés, ce décor factice donne vie à l’imaginaire du Far West à travers des animations immersives à destination d'un public varié. Mais parfois, la fiction rejoint la réalité : lors des funérailles du président et co-fondateur de l’association, Denis De Rorre alias Den's West, habitants et autorités locales ont tenu une véritable cérémonie dans le style western, mêlant hommage sincère et esthétique de fiction. Entre rêve américain et ancrage local, ces images révèlent une communauté soudée par la passion, où la frontière entre mise en scène et vie réelle s’efface.

The United States has just celebrated its national holiday. Whatever one’s view of this country—whether fascination or rejection—the American myth leaves no one indifferent. It continues to inspire imaginations far beyond the Atlantic. In the heart of the Gers region, there is a reconstructed Western village, named Carchet City. Created in 2016 by passionate volunteers, this artificial setting brings the fantasy of the Wild West to life through immersive activities for a diverse audience. But sometimes, fiction meets reality: during the funeral of the association’s president and co-founder, Denis De Rorre, also known as Den’s West, local residents and authorities held a genuine Western-style ceremony, blending heartfelt tribute with the aesthetics of fiction. Balancing the American dream and local roots, these images reveal a community united by passion, where the line between performance and real life fades away.
