UN RELAIS PLUVIEUX DE LA FLAMME OLYMPIQUE DANS LES PYRÉNÉES
Le 19 mai 2024, les Hautes-Pyrénées ont accueilli sous la pluie le relais de la Flamme Olympique pour l'organisation des jeux à Paris en 2024. Entre paysage grandiose du cirque de Gavarnie et petit village de campagne de Louit, le parcours a été varié. A Louit, en présence de Tony Estanguet, président du comité d'organisation des Jeux olympiques de Paris 2024 et athlète sportif français spécialiste du canoë monoplace slalom (C1), la Flamme a rendu hommage à Bernard Lapasset, un de ses enfants disparu en 2023, ancien président de la fédération Française de rugby, rugbyman de légende français et international ainsi qu'artisan et co-président, avec Tony Estanguet, de la candidature de Paris aux jeux 2024. Plusieurs membres de la famille de Bernard Lapasset ont porté la flamme de même qu'Etienne Thobois, directeur général du Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de Paris 2024 et ancien joueur de badminton français.
A RAINY RELAY FOR THE OLYMPIC FLAME IN THE PYRENEES
On 19 May 2024, the Hautes-Pyrénées Department welcomed under the rain the relay of the Olympic Flame for the organisation of the Games in Paris in 2024. The route varied between the grandiose scenery of the Gavarnie cirque and the small country village of Louit. In Louit, in the presence of Tony Estanguet, Chairman of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Organising Committee and a French sports athlete specialising in single-seater slalom canoeing (C1), the Flame paid tribute to Bernard Lapasset, one of its children, who died in 2023, a former President of the French Rugby Federation, a legendary French and international rugby player and the architect and co-chairman, with Tony Estanguet, of Paris's bid for the 2024 Games. Several members of Bernard Lapasset's family carried the flame, as did Etienne Thobois, CEO of the Paris 2024 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games s and former French badminton player.
