FRANCE - LE RUGBY REND UN HOMMAGE VIBRANT A FEDERICO MARTIN ARAMBURU
Les obséques de Federico Martin Aramburu, dit "Fede", star du rugby argentin et joueur du Biarritz Olympiques, se sont déroulés ce samedi 26 mars à Biarritz à l'église Saint-Eugenie puis au stade Aguilera. Après être semble t il intervenu en faveur de clients étrangers qui étaient importunés par des militants d'ultra droite dans un bar à Paris une semaine plus tôt, l'ancien joueur aurait ete victime d'un meurtre par balles imputé à ces mêmes activistes. Dans une très grande dignité, ses proches ont partagé leur peine et rappelé les valeurs de tolérance et de fraternité qui animait Fede. Aux cotés des anciens coéquipiers de rugby français et agentins de Fede, les habitants de Biarritz et supporteurs de l'équipe du Biarritz Olympiques Pays Basque sont venus témoigner leur soutien à la famille et rendre un vibrant hommage à Fede. Depuis sa retraite du rugby, Federico Martin Aramburu s'était engagé dans des projets en faveur du monde sportif et de l'entreprise visant à valoriser sa region francaise d'adoption, la pays basque, comme l'Argentine, son pays de naissance.
FRANCE - RUGBY PAYS A VIBRANT TRIBUTE TO FEDERICO MARTIN ARAMBURU
The funeral of Federico Martin Aramburu, known as "Fede", star of Argentine rugby and former player of the Biarritz Olympiques, took place this Saturday 26 March in Biarritz at Saint-Eugenie church and then at the Aguilera stadium. Afer having allegedly interceded in support of foreign customers who were being harassed in a bar in Paris a week earlier by far-right activists, the rugbyman was victim of a murder with a firearm that would be attributed to those activists. In a very dignified manner, his family and friends shared their sorrow and recalled the values of tolerance and fraternity that animated Fede. Alongside Fede's former French and Argentinian rugby teammates, Biarritz's inhabitants and supporters of the Biarritz Olympiques Pays Basque came to express their support to the family and to pay a vibrant tribute to Fede. Since his retirement from rugby, Federico Martin Aramburu had been involved in projects in the sporting and business world aimed at promoting his adopted French region, the Basque Country, as well as Argentina, his country of birth.
