VISITE PRÉFECTORALE DU PATRIMOINE DE NESTE BAROUSSE
Dans les Hautes-Pyrénées (65), la nouvelle préfète Sibylle Samoyault a parcouru quelques sites remarquables du patrimoine du territoire de Neste Barousse. Premier arrêt aux grottes de Gargas, où des mains peintes il y a des dizaines de milliers d'années continuent d'intriguer chercheurs et visiteurs. Yoan Rumeau, maire d'Aventignan et président de la communauté de communes Neste-Barousse, a evoqué les enjeux de valorisation et de préservation de ce patrimoine. Après un passage par le centre d'interprétation Nestploria, direction Ourde et son église romane, fermée au public la majeure partie de l'année : un retable baroque attribué aux Frères Ferrer et des fresques du XVe siècle en cours de restauration y attendaient la délégation. Une journée pour faire le point sur les besoins d'un patrimoine riche mais fragile. PREFECTORAL VISIT TO NESTE BAROUSSE HERITAGE
In the Hautes-Pyrénées (65), the new prefect Sibylle Samoyault toured several remarkable heritage sites in the Neste Barousse area. First stop was the Gargas caves, where handprints painted tens of thousands of years ago continue to intrigue researchers and visitors alike. Yoan Rumeau, mayor of Aventignan and president of the Neste-Barousse community of communes, spoke about the challenges of promoting and preserving this heritage. After a stop at the Nestploria interpretation center, the group headed to Ourde and its Romanesque church, closed to the public most of the year: a Baroque altarpiece attributed to the Ferrer Brothers and 15th-century frescoes currently under restoration awaited the delegation there. A day spent taking stock of the needs of a heritage that is rich but fragile.
