Un maire chef d’entreprise

Yannick Torres est le maire d’une petite commune francilienne de 2500 habitants en bord de Seine. Bien que son mandat lui permettent d’occuper les bureaux d’un château classé du XVIIème siècle, ses émoluments sont loin de correspondre à l’investissement et aux responsabilités qu’on imagine pour cette fonction. Comme de nombreux maires, il est donc obligé de continuer, en parallèle à sa mandature, d’exercer un emploi, en l’occurence dirigeant d’une société d’événementiels en centre commercial et supermarché.

Pendant 24h nous suivons ce maire passionné par cette vocation et le contact avec les habitants de sa commune. Des travaux de voirie aux commémorations plus officielles, de son bureau aux moulures anciennes au hangar de son entreprise personnelle, de la chasse aux oeufs de Pâques à la recherche d’un nouveau médecin généraliste, se dresse le portrait attachant, décalé, presque candide, d’un personnage investi corps et biens pour son territoire.

A mayor business leader

Yannick Torres is the mayor of a small town in the Paris region of France with 2,500 inhabitants on the banks of the Seine. Although his term allows him to occupy the offices of a listed 17th-century château, his emoluments are far from reflecting the investment and responsibilities one would expect from this position. Like many mayors, he is therefore obliged to continue working alongside his term, in this case as the manager of an events company specializing in shopping centers and supermarkets.

For 24 hours, we follow this mayor, passionate about his vocation and his connection with the residents of his community. From roadworks to more official commemorations, from his office with its antique moldings to the shed of his personal business, from the Easter egg hunt to the search for a new general practitioner, we see an endearing, offbeat, almost candid portrait of a man who is fully committed to his community.
