High School Student Protests in Paris
""HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, COLLEGE STUDENTS, WORKERS, UNITE!
The CNT RP calls on all workers to join this movement, to take part in the strike on October 6, to organize or participate in general assemblies, and to mobilize alongside and in support of high school and college students who are striving to build the balance of power that will put an end to the systematic creation of our collective precariousness.
On Tuesday, September 29, public sector workers mobilized across the country to demand the resources necessary for public services worthy of the name. And for two weeks now, high school students have been mobilizing daily and with enthusiasm outside their schools to denounce the deterioration of their learning conditions, a consequence of staff shortages and dilapidated facilities. Finally, in the past few days, college students have followed suit, refusing, they too, to resign themselves to the predicted intensification of social stratification in an increasingly unequal society.
Faced with this widespread mobilization, the government has chosen to respond with ever-increasing police repression and political provocation: on the one hand, by blinding teenagers with LBD rounds; on the other, by presenting an austerity budget proposal, continuing the antisocial logic that has led us to where we are today. And yet, the spirit of resistance continues to grow. The social response is taking shape, and the mobilization is building, through solidarity and resistance."
