OCCUPATION OF AN ABANDONED SCHOOL IN THE 16TH ARRONDISSEMENT BY ISOLATED STREET YOUTH - DAY 4
Since Tuesday 4 April, more than 250 teenagers have been occupying an abandoned school in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
These have been particularly difficult times for them. The young people are left to their own devices, confronted with the street, the cold, hunger, police harassment and the destruction of their survival gear. For weeks, sometimes months, as soon as they had settled, the police would immediately come and dislodge them without any other solution being offered to them. To put an end to this wandering and these nights of anguish, they decided, with the help of associations, to take over this disused school to ask for dignified and sustainable accommodation as well as support adapted to their situation.
On Saturday 9 April, three members of the "Yoga and Sport With Refugees Paris" collective came to give a boxing class to the young people in the school yard.
