L’école de samba Acadêmicos de Niterói a été déclassée du Groupe Spécial après avoir rendu hommage au président Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva en ouverture du carnaval de Rio de Janeiro le 15 février 2026. Le thème du défilé (enredo) a illustré la trajectoire de Lula, en mettant l’accent sur sa lutte sociale et politique pour l’éducation et pour éradiquer la faim au Brésil.

The samba school Acadêmicos de Niterói was relegated from the Special Group after paying tribute to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the opening of the Rio Carnival in Rio de Janeiro on February 15, 2026. The parade’s theme (enredo) portrayed Lula’s life story, highlighting his social and political struggle for education and for eradicating hunger in Brazil.
