Le joyeux et fougueux 4tet du pianiste américain Kirk Lightsey et du batteur Sangoma Everett s'est produit régulièrement au Club Chorus en 2021, 2023 et 2024. Selon Sangoma, leur vieille amitié remonte à la fin des années 1970, lorsque le saxophoniste Dexter Gordon cherchait un pianiste pour ses concerts au Village Vanguard. Le père de Spike Lee, le bassiste Bill Lee, a recommandé Kirk, qui a ensuite tourné cinq ans avec Dexter. En février 2024, à l?occasion du 87ème anniversaire de Kirk, la session du 4tet à Chorus a réuni Alfred Hitchcock (sax) et Steve Watts (bass).

Like a regular appointment, it was a great pleasure to see the joyful and spirited 4tet of American pianist Kirk Lightsey and drummer Sangoma Everett at Club Chorus in 2021, 2023 and 2024. According to Sangoma, their longtime friendship dates back to the late 1970s when saxophonist Dexter Gordon was looking for a pianist for his concerts at the Village Vanguard. Spike Lee's father, bassist Bill Lee, recommended Kirk, who toured with Dexter for five years. In February 2024, on the occasion of Kirk?s 87th birthday, the 4tet's session at Chorus featured Alex Hitchcock (sax) and Steve Watts (bass).
