Le pianiste cubain Alfredo Rodriguez a été repéré par Quincy Jones lors du concours piano du Montreux Jazz Festival 2006, qu'il a remporté. Après une longue collaboration avec le bassiste Richard Bona, il aime parrticulièrement le format du trio pour sa liberté et pour adapter des standards pop et jazz avec sa folie virtuose mâtinée de sauce cubaine extra forte. Nous le retrouvons sur la scène du JazzOnzePlus Festival 2023 avec Yarel Fernandez (bass) et Michael Olivera (drms).

Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodriguez was discovered by Quincy Jones at the Montreux Jazz Festival 2006 piano competition, which he won. After a long collaboration with bassist Richard Bona, he particularly likes the trio format for its freedom to adapt pop and jazz standards with his virtuoso madness mixed with an extra strong Cuban sauce. He performed at the JazzOnzePlus Festival 2023 with Yarel Fernandez (bass) and Michael Olivera (drums).
