Jeudi Saint à l'abbaye Sainte Marie du Rivet à Auros
Le Jeudi Saint, les chretiens celebrent la Cene, le dernier repas que Jesus avec ces disciples le soir precedant sa mort. Ce repas est a l’origine de la pratique chretienne de l’eucharistie. A l’abbaye Sainte Marie du Rivet a Auros dans le departement de la Gironde, comme dans toute la chretiente, les moniales de la communaute cistercienne et l’officiant, le pere Jean Jacques, celebrent un office rythme par les chants, prieres et lectures. Au cours de cet office, Mere Marie Christine, abbesse de l’abbaye, procede au lavement des pieds avant de porter en procession le Saint-Sacrement jusqu'au reposoir. La fin de la celebration est marquee par la veillee devant le reposoir durant laquelle l’ensemble des moniales et les fideles sont invites a quelques heures de priere.
Holy Thursday at the Sainte Marie du Rivet Abbey in Auros
On Holy Thursday, Christians celebrate the Last Supper, the last meal Jesus had with his disciples on the evening before his death. This meal is at the origin of the Christian practice of the Eucharist. At the Abbey of Sainte Marie du Rivet in Auros in the Gironde department, as throughout Christendom, the nuns of the Cistercian community and the officiant, Father Jean Jacques, celebrate an office punctuated by songs, prayers, and readings. During this office, Mother Marie Christine, abbess of the abbey, performs the washing of the feet before carrying the Blessed Sacrament in procession to the altar of repose. The end of the celebration is marked by the vigil before the altar of repose during which all the nuns and the faithful are invited to spend a few hours of prayer.
