Toulouse, France, 2023-10-09. Rassemblement en soutien aux grévistes de la faim contre le chantier de l'autoroute A69. Parmi ces grévistes, trois ont entamé le jour même une grève de la soif, dont Thomas Brail à Paris après 39 jours sans s'alimenter. Les mains tendues par le gouvernement et la région Occitanie sont à leurs yeux insuffisantes, face à la nécessité de conserver les arbres et terres fertiles, au moment où les effets du changement climatique apparaissent indéniable. Ils ont souhaité respecté une veillée funèbre pour symboliser l'enterrement de l'Etat de Droit.

Three of the hunger strikers went on thirst strike the same day, including Thomas Brail in Paris after 39 days without food. In their view, the hands extended by the government and the Occitanie region are insufficient, given the need to conserve trees and fertile land at a time when the effects of climate change are undeniable. They wished to hold a wake to symbolise the burial of the state of law.
