En Hexagone, on la connaît sous le nom de Valérie Andanson. Marie-Germaine Perigogne a retrouvé son identité véritable en 2024, suite à un long combat administratif. Présidente de la FEDD (Fédération des Enfants Déracinés des DROM), la lutte continue pour la reconnaissance des plus de 2000 "enfants de la Creuse", déracinés de leurs familles réunionnaises vers l'Hexagone entre 1962 et 1984. Le 28 janvier 2026, la proposition de loi de réparation a été adoptée à l'unanimité à l'Assemblée Nationale.

In mainland France, she is known as Valérie Andanson. Marie-Germaine Perigogne regained her true identity in 2024, following a long administrative battle. As president of the FEDD (Federation of Uprooted Children from the French Overseas Departments and Regions), the fight continues for the recognition of the more than 2,000 “children of the Creuse,” who were uprooted from their families in Réunion and sent to mainland France between 1962 and 1984. On January 28, 2026, the proposed reparations bill was unanimously adopted by the National Assembly.
