Dans cette deuxième série à bord de l'Astrolabe, l'équipage peut toucher terre après cinq jours de mer. Le brise-glace fait escale pour quelques jours à Durban, en Afrique du Sud. L'Astrolabe quitte La Réunion plusieurs fois par an pour se rendre dans les eaux tantôt des TAAF (Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises) chaudes, tantôt des TAAF froides, et jusqu'en Antarctique pour plusieurs mois.
Une routine millimétrée, à la fois banale et extraordinaire pour le commun des mortels. Une routine essentiellement masculine, où la douceur de certaines scènes ferait parfois oublier qu'une arme n'est jamais bien loin.

In this second series aboard the Astrolabe, the crew are able to make landfall after five days at sea. The icebreaker calls at Durban, South Africa, for a few days. L'Astrolabe leaves La Réunion several times a year, sometimes for the warm waters of the TAAF (Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises - French Southern and Antarctic Lands), sometimes for the cold waters of the TAAF (Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises - French Southern and Antarctic Lands), and sometimes for several months in Antarctica.
It's a routine that's both mundane and extraordinary for the average person. An essentially male routine, where the gentleness of certain scenes sometimes makes us forget that a gun is never far away.
