Etat des lieux du quartier Maine-Montparnasse
Le quartier Maine-Montparnasse va subir, dans les prochaines années, de profonds bouleversements, passant d’une architecture des années 60 à une architecture davantage en adéquation avec le changement climatique. Avant que ces changements n’interviennent, il semble judicieux de faire un état des lieux en ce printemps 2026.Certaines parties du projet sont déjà arrivées à leur terme : la place de Catalogne s’est transformée en forêt urbaine ; la rue du Commandant René Mouchotte s’est métamorphosée avec une végétalisation de son axe central et la création de deux pistes cyclables; et les bâtiments New Station, place des Cinq-Martyrs-du-Lycée-Buffon, ainsi que la tour CIT sont en début de modernisation.
An overview of the Maine-Montparnasse neighbourhood
Over the coming years, the Maine-Montparnasse district is set to undergo profound changes, transitioning from 1960s architecture to a style better suited to climate change. Before these changes take place, it seems wise to take stock of the situation this spring of 2026. Some parts of the project have already been completed: Place de Catalogne has been transformed into an urban forest; Rue du Commandant René Mouchotte has been revitalised with the greening of its central axis and the creation of two cycle lanes; and the New Station buildings on Place des Cinq-Martyrs-du-Lycée-Buffon, as well as the CIT Tower, are in the early stages of modernisation.
