Avec Peripheries, l auteur propose une errance photographique et poetique vers les limites visibles de la ville de Arles.
Espaces vierges ou en friche, marais, chemins de promenade, les sorties de villes ne se ressemblent pas. La frontiere entre l habite et l inhabite est sensible et multiple. La notion de territoire prend tout son sens au regard de la diversite des paysages et des possibilites creatives de l homme qui faconne son environnement.
Les quartiers situes loin du centre-ville aujourd hui sont en pleine evolution et moins peripheriques qu ils ne le seront demain... La carte photographique du territoire est indispensable pour demain.
Suburbs
With Peripheries, the author proposes a photographic and poetic wandering towards the visible limits of the city of Arles.
Virgin or wasteland spaces, marshes, footpaths, the exits of cities are not the same. The border between the inhabited and the uninhabited is sensitive and multiple. The notion of territory takes on its full meaning with regard to the diversity of landscapes and the creative possibilities of man who shapes his environment.
The districts located far from the city centre today are in full evolution and less peripheral than they will be tomorrow... The photographic map of the territory is indispensable for tomorrow.
