MAKING FABRIC FACE MASKS AS A NEW BUSINESS
The employees of Bebemoss company in Istanbul, Turkey, sew fabric face masks to protect against the coronavirus. The selling of those masks created a new opportunity business for the hundreds women working in this workshop, many being Syrian, Iraqi or Iranian refugees. They work very hard to rebuild their lives in a new country and offer a better future to their children. For many bringing additional income to their homes prevents the older children from working and keeps them in school. Bebemoss aims to lift mothers, excluded from the labour market out of poverty and during the pandemic they started to manufacture handmade face masks.
