SIMULTANEOUS./ NEPAL./ COLLABORATION WITH LIJEN MAHARJAN
Simulataneous est une collaboration argentique entre Mila Nijinsky (France) et Lijen Maharjan (Nepal) où souvenirs familiaux et explorations se mélangent aux fils des pellicules photos et de hasard choisis.
Les paysages ont été enregistrés sur pellicules soupées lors d'excursions à travers les hautes montagnes sacrées Népalaises, à plus de 4000m de hauteur, en 2021 et 2023, par Mila Nijinsky. Cette base a été offerte à Lijen Maharjan (artiste Népalais) pour qu'il puisse y placer librement ses dernières recherches autour d'archives argentiques familiales. Les clichés choisis par Lijen sont vieux de 25 à 50 ans. Couleurs, mémoires et transparences viennent se mélanger, se superposer et s'embrasser pour créer de nouveaux paysages oniriques, réminiscence d'un autre temps ou les souvenirs restent évanescents et magiques

Simulataneous is a analog based collaboration between Mila Nijinsky (France) and Lijen Maharjan (Nepal), where family memories and explorations mingle with the threads of photographic film and chosen chance.
The landscapes were recorded on souped-up film during excursions through the sacred high mountains of Nepal, over 4000m high, in 2021 and 2023, by Mila Nijinsky. This base was offered to Lijen Maharjan (Nepalese artist) so that he could freely place his latest research around his family's silver archives. The photographs chosen by Lijen are between 25 and 50 years old. Colors, memories and transparencies blend, overlap and embrace to create new dreamlike landscapes, reminiscent of another time when memories remain evanescent and magical.
