L’installation monumentale La Caverne du Pont Neuf, imaginée par l’artiste français JR en hommage à l’œuvre de Christo, métamorphose le plus ancien pont de Paris en une grotte minérale immersive recouvrant son architecture historique de volumes rocheux spectaculaires. En jouant avec l’échelle du pont, la perspective et la peau de pierre de la ville, JR crée un trompe‑l’œil géant qui invite les passants à redécouvrir ce symbole parisien comme une entrée de caverne fantastique au-dessus de la Seine. Inscrite dans la tradition des interventions éphémères sur le patrimoine, cette œuvre interroge la manière dont nos monuments peuvent être réinventés par l’art urbain, le temps d’une installation monumentale ouverte à tous du 6 au 28 juin 2026.

The monumental installation La Caverne du Pont Neuf, conceived by French artist JR as a tribute to Christo’s work, transforms the oldest bridge in Paris into an immersive mineral cave, covering its historic architecture with spectacular rocky volumes. By playing with the scale of the bridge, perspective and the city’s stone skin, JR creates a giant trompe‑l’oeil that invites passers‑by to rediscover this Parisian landmark as a fantastical cave entrance above the Seine. In line with the tradition of ephemeral interventions on heritage sites, this work questions how our monuments can be reinvented through urban art, for the duration of a large‑scale installation open to all from June 6 to 28, 2026.
