Robert Badinter au Panthéon
Le jeudi 9 octobre 2025, jour symbolique de l'abolition de la peine de mort, la Nation a rendu hommage à Robert Badinter en marquant son entrée au Panthéon. Cette cérémonie solennelle a célébré l'héritage de justice et d'humanisme de l'ancien Garde des Sceaux. L'événement a été rythmé par des lectures marquantes (notamment par Sandrine Bonnaire et Guillaume Gallienne) et par l'interprétation de la chanson emblématique de Julien Clerc, « L’Assassin assassiné ». Le Président Emmanuel Macron a ensuite prononcé un discours, saluant le « père de l'abolition » et sa « conscience républicaine ». Le cercueil cénotaphe contient des objets symboliques (sa robe d'avocat, ses livres) sans sa dépouille, conformément au souhait de son épouse, Élisabeth Badinter, de le laisser reposer auprès de sa famille. La Nation a ainsi reconnu l'engagement exemplaire de Robert Badinter en faveur des valeurs de la République.

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, the symbolic anniversary of the abolition of the death penalty, the French Nation paid tribute to Robert Badinter by marking his entry into the Panthéon. This solemn ceremony celebrated the former Minister of Justice's legacy of justice and humanism. The event was punctuated by powerful readings (notably by Sandrine Bonnaire and Guillaume Gallienne) and by the performance of Julien Clerc’s iconic song, “L’Assassin assassiné” (The Murdered Murderer). President Emmanuel Macron then delivered a speech, hailing the "father of the abolition" and his "republican conscience." The cenotaph coffin contains symbolic objects (his lawyer’s gown, his books) without his remains, in accordance with the wish of his wife, Élisabeth Badinter, to have him rest beside his family. Through this, the Nation recognized Robert Badinter’s exemplary commitment to the values of the Republic.
