Christmas decoration in department stores
Every year, the windows of the Parisian department stores come alive to the delight of children and their parents. This tradition is more than a hundred years old, as it was in 1909 that the first shop windows, those of Le Bon Marché, were decorated with articulated scenes. The theme was the discovery of the North Pole. Later, Printemps decorated its windows on the theme of Christmas in Lorraine. This tradition only really took hold after the Second World War.
