Procès en appel de Marine Le Pen
Marine Le Pen a comparu le 7 juillet 2026 devant la cour d'appel de Paris dans le cadre du procès en appel de l'affaire des assistants parlementaires du Rassemblement national. Les magistrats réexaminaient le jugement rendu en première instance ainsi que les arguments des différentes parties avant de rendre une nouvelle décision. La cour d'appel de Paris a confirmé sa culpabilité mais a allégé sa peine. Elle a été condamnée à 3 ans d'emprisonnement, dont 2 ans avec sursis et 1 an sous surveillance électronique, 100 000 euros d'amende et 45 mois d'inéligibilité, dont 30 mois avec sursis, soit 15 mois ferme. Cette durée étant déjà couverte par l'exécution provisoire commencée en 2025, elle redevient éligible.
Marine Le Pen Appeal Trial
On July 7, 2026, Marine Le Pen appeared before the Paris Court of Appeal in the appeal trial of the National Rally parliamentary assistants case. The judges re examined the first instance ruling and heard arguments from both sides before delivering a new judgment. The Paris Court of Appeal upheld her conviction but reduced her sentence. She was sentenced to three years in prison, including two years suspended and one year to be served under electronic monitoring, fined €100,000, and banned from holding public office for 45 months, including 30 months suspended, leaving an effective ban of 15 months. As this period had already been covered by the provisional enforcement of the original sentence that began in 2025, she became eligible to run for office again.
