Armistice, 107 ans plus tard
Il y a 107 ans, l’armistice mettait fin aux combats de la Première Guerre mondiale. Comme chaque année, Lyon a rendu hommage aux soldats tombés pour la France lors d’une cérémonie au Monument aux Morts de l’Île du Souvenir, au parc de la Tête d’Or.
Sous un ciel gris d’automne, autorités civiles et militaires, anciens combattants, associations patriotiques et élèves des écoles lyonnaises se sont rassemblés pour commémorer la fin de la Grande Guerre et rappeler la nécessité du devoir de mémoire.
Armistice, 107 Years Later
107 years ago, the armistice put an end to the fighting of the First World War. As every year, Lyon paid tribute to the soldiers who fell for France during a ceremony at the Monument to the Dead on the Île du Souvenir, in the Parc de la Tête d’Or.
Under a grey autumn sky, civil and military authorities, veterans, patriotic associations and schoolchildren from Lyon gathered to commemorate the end of the Great War and to recall the importance of remembrance.
