FRENCH ARMY : INSIDE NEW NATIONAL SERVICE
Lance a la rentree 2026, le nouveau service national volontaire accueille ses premiers appeles ages de 18 a 25 ans au sein des armees francaises. Au sein de l Armee de l Air et de l Espace, une centaine de jeunes composent la premiere promotion formee sur la base aerienne 105 d Evreux. Apres leur incorporation, ils suivent un mois de formation militaire initiale avant de rejoindre une unite pour neuf mois. Au programme : ordre serre, instruction militaire, sport, entrainement au combat rapproche et apprentissage du maniement des armes. Ce dispositif de dix mois intervient dans le cadre du nouveau service national annonce par Emmanuel Macron le 27 novembre 2025.

Launched in autumn 2026, France’s new voluntary National Service welcomes young people aged 18 to 25 into the armed forces. Within the French Air and Space Force, a first cohort undergoes one month of initial military training at Air Base 105 in Evreux before joining a unit for nine months. Military drill, sports, weapons training, close-quarters combat and classroom instruction are among the main stages of this initial phase. Announced by President Emmanuel Macron on November 27, 2025, the ten-month program aims in particular to strengthen ties between young people and the armed forces.
