Une épicerie solidaire pour étudiants en galère
Voilà trois ans maintenant qu'une association d'étudiants de Rennes 2 a créé une épicerie solidaire au sein du campus, en partenariat avec l'Université et des associations caritatives. Depuis son lancement début 2019, la foule ne désemplit pas pour ses trois jours par semaine de distribution alimentaire. Le constat est simple : la précarité n'a cessé de grandir dans le milieu étudiant, couplée, depuis le Covid, à un effondrement des liens sociaux pendant presque deux ans. Les bénévoles de l'Epicerie gratuite, étudiants eux aussi, s'organisent à tour de rôle pour récupérer les invendus auprès d'associations (Emmaüs, etc.) ou bien de cantines scolaires. Distribuées dans les locaux de la faculté, les denrées partent à vitesse grand V, et aident des étudiants qui, sans cela, ne mangeraient pas à leur faim. L'initiative, première du genre dans le milieu universitaire, a fait des émules auprès d'autres campus en France.

The free grocery store of the University Rennes 2
For three years now, an association of students from Rennes 2 has created a solidarity grocery shop on campus, in partnership with the University and charitable associations. Since its launch at the beginning of 2019, the crowd has not stopped for its three days a week of food distribution. The observation is simple: precariousness has not ceased to grow in the student environment, coupled, since Covid, with a collapse of social ties for almost two years. The volunteers of the Epicerie gratuite, who are also students, take it in turns to collect unsold food from associations (Emmaüs, etc.) or school canteens. Distributed in the faculty premises, the foodstuffs are sent out at high speed, helping students who would otherwise not have enough to eat. The initiative, the first of its kind in the university environment, has been emulated by other campuses in France.
