Il a été élu député à 23 ans, plus jeune député de l'histoire de Hong Kong, sous l'étiquette du parti Demosisto qu'il avait créé, avant d'être destitué un an plus tard. Il a été par la suite nominé pour le Prix Nobel de la Paix.
En 2020, craignant de se retrouver en prison comme ses camarades comme
Joshua Wong, il s'est exilé à Londres suite à l'instauration de la loi de sécurité nationale qui avait donné lieu à cette longue révolution sur le territoire.

He was elected as a member of parliament at 23, the youngest member of parliament in Hong Kong's history, on the ticket of the Demosisto party he had founded, before being deposed a year later. He was later nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In 2020, fearing that he would end up in prison like his comrades such as Joshua Wong, he went into exile in London following the introduction of the National Security Law which had given rise to this long revolution in the territory.
